The Great Divorce

As many of you know, we will have Jay Redman as a Keynote Speaker at the Annual Conference this year. His topic is "The Great Divorce: Are you sure they're still in love with you?" and will focus on business-place wellbeing.

To get ready for this topic he has provided some pre-Conference statistics that will be sure to open your eyes:

In a random sampling of 15,000 US employees, less than 1 in 4 strongly agree their employer cares about their wellbeing. Managers agreement that their employer cares about wellbeing declined 11% in this study, and that has outsized impact on organizational performance and engagement. One immediate fix I would recommend would be addressing a simple question, "Do you like what you do everyday?" Benchmark where managers are on a Likert 5 point scale, and work backwards by having intentional conversations to identify their roadblocks to success. In all likelihood, there is a gap between their actual daily tasks and what they were hired to do. Get managers feeling like you are their partner to remove barriers to success, and get them doing what they do best. But you have to ask the question first.
